The Insulin Distribution Program is a safety-net program and is only to be used when there is no other resource available for the insulin.
Central Pharmacy and county health departments (CHDs) with a licensed pharmacy are authorized to fill client-specific insulin prescriptions. CHDs without a licensed pharmacy will forward insulin prescriptions to the Central Pharmacy.
