The Epilepsy Medication Assistance Program is a safety net program that provides epilepsy medication to individuals when they need assistance paying for it.

Brand name medication will only be issued when the client provides a statement from the prescriber that includes the following:

  • Brand name medication is medically necessary
  • Use of the generic version of the medication was attempted by the patient and was not effective
  • Use of the generic version of the medication has not been attempted due to the severity of the patient’s epilepsy.
