The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program is a federally-funded supplemental nutrition program. WIC supports Florida Families by providing the following at no cost:
- Healthy foods
- Breastfeeding support
- Nutrition education
- Referrals to other services
Families are screened for nutritional risk and income eligibility. Licensed nutritionists and nutrition educators determine eligibility and provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to assist families in making healthier nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle choices.

The WIC program serves infants, children up to 5 years old, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and women in the first 6 months after giving birth. We ensure the nutritional health and welfare of women and children at the start of a child’s life in Leon, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla counties.
