The storage tank compliance program, contracted by the Department of Environmental Protection, is designed to guard Florida’s great natural resources against the often harmful contaminates found in petroleum and other hazardous substances stored above and below ground in storage tanks.
To do this, the Florida Department of Health in Jefferson County (DOH-Jefferson) performs annual fuel tank/storage tank inspections to six counties in North Florida. In addition to annual compliance inspections, the installation and closure of all tanks are monitored by the program. Lastly we respond to any incidents, complaints, and/or discharges associated with the potentially hazardous substances stored in petroleum and storage tanks.
DOH-Jefferson serves the following counties:
- Dixie County
- Jefferson County
- Lafayette County
- Madison County
- Suwannee County
- Taylor County
