Group Care Facilites

This program includes both residential and non-residential facilities. Examples of residential facilities include, but are not limited to, assisted living facilities and group homes.  Non-residential facilities include public schools, and private schools.

Inspection and approval of these facilities is a prerequisite for another state agency to grant an operating license or license renewal.  Group care facilities are regulated and licensed by state agencies such as the:

Department of Children and Families
Agency for Health Care Administration
Department of Education
Department of Elder Affairs
