Food Safety and Sanitation operations that are under the Department of Health's jurisdiction include food service operations located in institutional settings (such as schools and correctional facilities), civic and fraternal organizations, theaters (that limit their menu to drinks, candy, popcorn, hotdogs, and nachos), and bars and lounges that don't prepare food. Applications are received and inspections are performed to ensure food establishments regulated by the Department of Health are designed, built, equipped, and operated in a safe and sanitary manner.
