Keeping the Pressure Down
The Florida Department of Health in Jefferson County and the Jefferson County IFAS Extension Office have partnered to offer FREE Blood Pressure Self-monitoring classes. The curriculum for the classes is called Keeping the Pressure Down. Keeping the Pressure Down is an eight-lesson group education program designed to help individuals who have been diagnosed with hypertension make healthy lifestyle choices to lower their blood pressure and reduce their health risks.
In this program you will learn how to:
- Evaluate you risk
- Decode food labels
- Build activity into your life
- Enhance your lifestyle
- DASH towards a healthier diet
- Reform recipes
- Eat out sensibly
